The Sisters were founded in 1993 by Amanda Micheli and Andrea Martin. Amanda had played previously at Harvard and Andrea was a rookie. Amanda had been playing with the men’s team after moving to Albuquerque, and roped Andrea into helping to start a women’s team.
They placed flyers up everywhere, found a few women who had played in college, and pieced together a team of barely 15.

As team lore goes: our kit colors of purple and green were born of the need to acquire a set for very little money. They were purchased on discount after another team cancelled their already completed order, allegedly for a Mardi Gras tournament.

Competing in USA Rugby Women's Division II Tier in the Southwest Rugby Union, the Sisters have already a record for success! Besides multiple tournaments such as High Desert Classic, Celtic 7's, Santa Fe 10's, Flagstaff 10's, Scottsdale Blues Fest and more, the Sisters have over time taken to nationals:
2010- Arizona Finishing 2nd
2011- Virginia, Finished 4th
2012- Florida, Finished 8th

Hailing from many different backgrounds such as students, lawyers, therapists, carpenters, nurses, doctors, firefighters, teachers, IT, military and more; all works towards our purpose:
